Organized Session/Workshop

Organized sessions will be scheduled during 90-minute breakout periods. Session organizers are encouraged to include presenters with multiple perspectives on CBCR and social justice in their sessions (researcher, community partner, service provider, advocate, and/or policymaker). Organized session formats are described below:

Panel Discussion/Symposium

Panel discussions provide a forum for presentation of research, theory, methodology, or case studies followed by significant time for discussion and audience participation. Panel discussion/symposia submissions must include the name and contact information of the session organizer, a 100-word overview of the session and the names of each presenter participating in the session. Each presenter in an organized session must submit a separate application that includes a maximum 300-word abstract of their presentation and the session title.

Skill-Building Workshop

Skills Building Workshops provide instruction and increase the competence and skills of session participants in areas of importance to the conference theme and goals. In addition to the maximum 300-word abstract, the workshop instructor should include a list of specific learning objectives and timeline of training activities. In some instances, there may be an opportunity to extend the workshop over two sessions for a total of 180 minutes.

Interactive Roundtable Discussion
The interactive roundtable organizer facilitates a discussion on a specific topic that relates to the conference theme. The facilitator guides the conversation, and begins the session with a brief opening statement, or series of questions that provide the basis for the discussion with all participants. We encourage the facilitator to include at least 1-2 discussants who can provide diverse perspectives on the issue. The facilitator must include a maximum 300-word abstract/overview of the session, critical issues to be addressed, and the names/roles of discussants.

Poster Presentation

Posters are designed to display information in a visually engaging manner. All accepted posters will be displayed on 36” x 48” poster boards for viewing throughout the conference. With prior permission, some posters may be part of an interactive thematic poster presentation during a scheduled breakout session. All poster submissions must include a maximum 300-word abstract.

Applicants may also send the conference registration form (pdf version / Microsoft Word version) to Maryann Abbott at maryann.abbott@icrweb.org or mail them to:
